Regional Staff Training and Project Planning Workshop RUAF - From Seed to Table Programme

International Water Management Institute (IWMI, Hyderabad) under its “Resource Centres on Urban Agriculture and Food Security (RUAF) programme” for the South and South East Asia region, is hosted a 7 days workshop titled “First Regional Staff Training and Planning Workshop” from 7th – 13th February 2009, in The Infantry Hotel, Infantry Road, Bengaluru, India.
Aims
At the end of this workshop the participants will have:
- A clear understanding of the overall RUAF-FSTT programme and its various components
- A clear understanding of the FSTT approach, its main concepts, the nature of the innovation process.
- A clear understanding of the steps to follow and the activities to be realised in each step and related time frame,
- A clear understanding of the expected outputs and results of the diagnosis and planning phase
- A clear understanding of the methodology and tools to be applied in each step of the diagnosis and planning phase
- Adapted the methodology and tools for the regional situation, checked/adapted the translated version of the training manual part I for the regional staff training and developed the required additional materials (e.g. Power Point presentations) in regional language
- A clear understanding of the role of the Multi-Stakeholder Forum and the process of formalising/implementing the City Strategic Agenda
- Adapted the ToR for the credit and financing study
- Developed a detailed work plan for the regional team (and local partners) for the first 4 months of the project, defining who will do what, where and with what resources
- Defined how progress and outputs/results will be monitored during the diagnosis and planning phase and how lessons regarding this phase will be systematized.

- RUAF-FStT Local Teams (Gampaha, Sri Lanka and Magadi, Bengaluru, India) 3 per team
- Regional Coordinator, Coaches, KIM and M&E Officer and GIS Specialist
- RUAF-ETC (Henk de Zeeuw)
