Exposure visit to Digogedara Gemidiriya Company Ltd

The producers of the FSTT project in Gampaha visited the 'Digogedara Gemidiriya Company Ltd' - Eheliyagoda, Rathnapura, Sri Lanka on 23.02.2010. It was organized to strengthen the organizational capacities RUAF-FStT beneficiaries in Gampaha, Group leaders, Agriculture Monitoring Officer of the DoA, participated.
The main objective of this visit was to understand & learn how a Gemidiriya company functions and share their experiences of the farmers who were running the company. This company is regarded as one of the best Gemidiriya companies in Rathnapura. Starting from the registration process, savings & loan scheme, sub-project activities, capacity building, organizational strengthening, and other key aspects of the company were discussed Mr. Rohitha from the Gemidiriya District office and the board of directors, committee members of the company helped in numerous ways to share their knowledge and experiences.
At the end of the programme the FStT group leaders understood the operational practices of this company.
